Your dog will feel right at home at BeachPoint Cottages and Siesta Key Village is a very welcoming place dogs. Within walking distance you can find numerous dog friendly Siesta Key restaurants who will welcome your pup with open arms, a fresh water bowl…and sometimes they offer a doggy menu, too! Our pups really love The Sun Garden, The Old Salty Dog (they even have a doggie blog), and The Village Cafe.
We are dog friendly in specific cottages. Our property is in an area with little car traffic – so a stroll to walk your dog is easy. So your well behaved animal (on leash) can snooze in the shade or watch the birds and squirrels. Want to do something and need a place for your pup to stay for the day? Siesta Key has dog sitters available and we suggest you check with a local Sarasota vet for a personal reference.
Would you like to spend the day at the beach with your dog? Although Siesta Key beaches do not allow dogs, Sarasota does have a beach that is completely open to canine companions and their humans: Brohard Beach and Paw Park.
And Sarasota County has over 50 dog friendly (on leash) parks and 6 off leash paw parks available for fun with your dog.
Let us know about your canine companion when you request a reservation. Dogs are permitted in selected cottages only. We do not accept reservations without guaranteeing a particular room until check-in. We are not set up like a short-stay hotel*.
According to recent research, between 10 and 20% of the population worldwide are allergic to dogs and cats. It’s a time consuming process to transform a property from pet-friendly to pet-free as dander can remain long after pets depart. We have very reasonable animal cleaning fees and welcome your well behaved dog – but it must be registered and approved prior to arrival (there are weight and breed restrictions).

DOGS: BeachPoint Cottages is dog friendly, but if you are bringing any animal, it must be pre-approved and registered with us at the time your reservation is made. Dogs are only permitted in selected cottages, and only with the approval of BeachPoint Cottages. We require the name, weight, age and breed at time of registration. There are definite limitations on weight (30 lbs) and breed.
There is a $20 non-refundable nightly cleaning charge per approved dog. Guests are limited to one dog per cottage.
We reserve the right to refuse occupancy if a guest arrives with an animal that has not been pre-approved by management. Dog cleaning fee must be paid before arrival. Evidence of unapproved animals on premises may result in eviction.
All dog breeds must be approved by BeachPoint Cottages’ and have a friendly temperament to strangers (other guests, maintenance contractors, owners, children, other pets on property, etc.) Dog(s) must be completely house-trained and not have any chewing, scratching or digging habits. All dogs must have current shots and currently be treated for fleas. Dogs will be kept on leash when outside of the cottage.
We ask that you are considerate of other guests and do not leave your dogs alone in the cottage for any extended time.
Sarasota County has a leash law and does not permit dogs on the beach on Siesta Key. If you have any questions or concerns regarding making a reservation with a dog, please call or email us before making a reservation.
