We have the perfect location for your Siesta Key beach vacation. Beachpoint is located on a quiet part of Siesta Beach that is frequented by locals. Access is by bike and foot, with few cars passing on the beachfront road. Your cottage will be just a few steps to cool white sand with no parking worries. Lush tropical gardens offer both large gathering areas and cozy private nooks. This drone’s eye view of the property and beautiful turquoise water shows why our guests rave about the BeachPoint location. Come and join us!
After a long day at the beach, what could be better than a shady spot with an ocean view and a breeze? Our large party deck – always a favorite hang out for our regular guests – now offers a new, cool and inviting place to have a drink or meet other visitors.
Recently, some Seminole Indians visited BeachPoint Cottages and constructed a new beach hut. Whether you call it a chickee, palapa, beach fale or ramada – this type of open air structure is built in warm tropical areas to shelter people from the sun. But it is also a wonderful place to experience our occasional afternoon beach rain. The lovely sound and view may have you hoping for a quick shower during your stay.
Chickee is the word Seminoles use for “house”, and ours features traditional sabal or cabbage palmetto – the state tree of Florida. This indigenous thatched roof structure reflects Florida’s heritage.
Beautifully constructed with cypress logs and palm thatch, our new beach hut is a delight to the eyes and a reminder of the past.
Returning guests will notice changes at the resort right away. Golden Neptune sits guard over the deck area. And you’ll see the entire deck has been rebuilt – so there’s plenty of space for lounging, conversation around a table, or an après sun cocktail hour.
Lots of new shade awnings offer cool spaces to relax with a cool drink or a book. You’ll find plenty of outdoor spaces that offer shady relief after your bright sunny day on the beach.
And, by the way, the cottages look even more charming with the new tin roof.
Hope to see you soon!
Visitors to BeachPoint Cottages can’t miss the massive 10′ King Neptune statue overlooking the ocean. He is one of the many pieces of local history that have been rescued and found a new home at our quirky tropical cottages.
This huge guardian was created by local artists – Kevin Colson and Andrew Truitt – for Neptune’s Restaurant in Siesta Key Village. Opened in 1990, Neptune’s introduced outside dining and music to the key, and it remained a local favorite until closing in July 1996. During that time, thousands of photos must have been made with the big guy. Do you have photos? Share them with us on facebook. Continue reading →
Well known professional photographer and director, David Hart took a few minutes from shooting for an upcoming catalog to talk about BeachPoint Cottages. He often uses this colorful beach hotel as his home base when doing local work at Siesta Beach, and he appreciates the tropical setting and eye-candy that makes BeachPoint such a memorable location for your Florida vacation.
Our name is changing.
So many of our guests come back year after year to vacation with us on Siesta Key. If you are one of our “regulars”, you’ll notice that our name is changing. Beachpoint Resort is becoming BeachPoint Cottages. If you’ve stayed with us before, you know that we aren’t a typical vacation resort. In fact, our guests often tell us that our eclectic cottages remind them of Key West. So our name is changing to more accurately reflect the kind of vacation rental you’ll enjoy here.
